Rev. Clinton Earl Smith, Sr. was the sixth of seven children born to Will and Pearl Smith on May 29, 1931 in East Point, Georgia. He departed this world on September 8, 2016 through the will of God.
At an early age, Rev. Smith joined Grant Chapel AME Church. Later on in life, he became a faithful member of Simpson Road Baptist Church, where he became a deacon and an associate pastor under Rev. Orange Weems.
After graduating from Washington High School, and having several part time jobs, Rev. Smith attended Clark College. After two years of college, he joined the armed forces. Following his military service, Rev. Smith chose the Federal Aviation Agency as 1his occupation for several years until retirement. While he was at FAA, he married the lovely Thelma Hutcherson and had a handsome young boy, Clinton Earl Smith, Jr.
Rev. Smith continued to work as a teacher at the Boy's Club and at Sears-West End. He later went back to school and giaduated with honors from Beulah Bible College with a degree in ministry. In 1997, Rev. Clinton Earl Smith, Sr. became the pastor of Fairfield Baptist Church of Worship, Inc.
In 2002, he met the lovely Madelyne Williams and a union of marriage was formed. Rev. Smith would be the pastor at Fairfield until his health declined.
Rev. Clinton Earl Smith, Sr. is preceded in death by his three brothers, Edward Smith, William Smith, and Albert Smith; and three sisters, Fannie L. Jacobs, Lucear Wilson, and Lethia Darns. He leaves to cherish his life, Madelyne (wife); one son, Clinton Earl Smith, Jr. (Keena); two grandchildren, Kayla and Caleb; two step-children, Ali and Kenya; and a host of relatives and friends.

My struggle of life living is over! Peace, free of pain and of shame. No more desiring for someone to care or stop in. Wipe your eyes, too late for the tears. I reached a door; the welcome door.
