Ms. Beverely Jean Smith was born July 4, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended West Fulton High School. She went to Job Corps In Atlanta, Georgia where she studied business. For several years she worked for the Atlanta Board of Education.
Polly loved her family unconditionally. She was always there whenever she was needed. In 1996 she adopted five of her grandchildren. Ms. Smith departed this life on June 6, 2014 due to illness. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Kate Smith Harris; brothers, Leonzie, Randy, Andre and Cedric; sister, Diana Surles; sons, Darrell Surry, Theodore Porter, Nicholas, Eric Smith; daughters, Crystal, Theodora Smith; grandchildren, Princess Rachel Smith; thirteen great grandchildren; aunts, Roberta Jenkins, Willie Mae Hurston and Evelyn Smith; uncle, Tommy (Pete) McCrary (Barbara) and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
