Herman Smalls, .h was horn on April 25, 19-12 to Elizabeth Catherine (Cobb) S'malls and the late Herman Smalls, Sr in Charleston, SC. He departed this l~f~ on September 30, 2010 at Winchester i\1emorial f{ospital.

Herman is a graduate ofBaptist Hill High School in }(mges Island, SC Thereafter he resided in Ne11 York City. Herman married Anna Maria (A..rchibald)
on December 14, 1963 from this union they were hlessed with two children: Herman 111, and lvfe 'lor Anita. His son, his pride andjO)' and his daughter the apple ofhis eye.

He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he servedft7ithfitl(r and was a member of various auxiliaries. Mr. Smalls, was a/wavs reaci},: to encourage and help oihers and in 1974 joined the Holmes Marslwll Vo.lunteer Fire Department. TtVhile at Holmes Marshall Hennon held severaL positions including Chief He was past member ofthe Piscataway Auxiliary Police and Prince HaLl Lodge 1-vhere he was a 32nd degree mason.

Herman retired from Conesco Industries, LTD afier 34 years where he heLd the position offoreman. A./fer retiring Herman had more time to enjoy his hohhies. fishing and boating. He was a avid NeH' York Giantsfcm.

In 1999. Herman and Anna relocated to Concord, VA and shortly thereqf-
ter joined First St. Paul lvlissionary Baptist Church in Rustburg. True to form Herman 1-vent to work and joined the usher board and sened as a rnemher and a past president. He al~o served as a membi:!r (~l the Deacon hoard
and was the past secretal)' of that ministrJ'. He also enjoyed heing sec-
retwy of the Sunday school and was president of the Alen 5 Fellowship.
