Effie (Babbl Sloan was born March 5, 1914 in Henry County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Babb. She became the wife of ~Ianzo Sloan, Sr. on November 7, 1937 and to this union two children were born. She and her husband joined the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church after their marriage. She has been active in civic organizations and was a current member of the Atlanta-Dekalb Senior Citizens Group and Choir. Effie leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Alonzo Sloan, Sr., one son, Alonzo Sloan, Jr; one daughter, Oteal Sloan-McGeever; one brother, Otis Babb, Sr., Chattanooga, Tennessee; a twin sister, Essie Babb; eight. grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Annie Moseley; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
