AT DAY'S END
Is anyone happier now because you passed this way? Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
The day is almost over, as its toiling time is though; Is there anyone now to utter a kindly word of you? Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast, That you helped a single Brother of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said; Does the friend whose hopes were fading, now with renewed courage look ahead?
Did you waste the day, or lose it? Was it well, or sorely spent? Did you leave a trail ofkindness, or a bleak scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think the Great Architect will say, "You have earned one more tomorrow by the good works you did today?"
With warmest appreciation, to all who extended themselves to our family during our bereavement, we th ank you . To all who sent cards, lette rs, flora Is and food, we truly appreciate your generosity . To those who bowed your heads in prayer for us, we are eternally grateful. Special thanks to all those who provided care and assistance during the illness of our beloved, Mother. We are grateful for her many caregivers and specia l f r iends .
May God smile on you and bless you always, Bob Shropshire and Family

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12: 9
Mamie Shropshire was born in Summerville, Georgia on May 5, 1931 to the late Samuel and Janie Adams Richardson and was the second oldest of four children. At an early age she was baptized and accepted Christ. She was a devoted wife of 49 years to the late Bobby Shropshire, Sr.; she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Mamie attended Summerville Public Schools where she graduated with honors. After graduation, she worked in Summerville for one year before enrolling at Clark Atlanta University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Clark Atlanta University and a Masters of Science degree from Georgia State University in elementary grade instruction for gifted children.
She had the opportunity to share her talents and love of teaching in four different school systems throughout the state of Georgia. She positively impacted the academic lives of children in Jasper, Paulding, Chattooga, and the Atlanta Public School System. Her love for children and instructional education touched thousands for thirty-six years before retiring.
Mamie was selected to teach and participate in various teaching enrichment programs during the summer months throughout her tenure. She worked for seven years as a Consultant and Administrative Assistant in the Atlanta Public School's Bounty Mathematics Program.
