J t resident of 2207 Bowen Boulevard, Winston-Salem,
North Carolina, was born to the late Elder Robert and Pearl Banks in Florence, South Carolina. She resided in Winston-Salem for over forty years and was a faithful member of Miracle Temple Apostolic Church where Bishop Wallace Shields Sr. is the pastor. Mother Shields was mother of the church, president of the Missionary Society, member of the Gospel Choir and the Usher Board. She passed away on Friday, April19, 1996, at the Forsyth Memorial Hospital with the comfort of her family in her presence.
Survivors include her husband, Bishop Wallace Shields Sr. of the home; seven sons, Robert Eugene (Shirley), Wallace Jr. (Patricia), Timothy (Phyllis), and Kenneth (Kimberly) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Terry (Debra) of Walkertown, North Carolina and Randy (Delores) of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; three daughters, Dora (George) Spears and Kay Sackey of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Gail (Kelvin) Cash of Knoxville, Tennessee; twenty-three grandchildren; one brother-inlaw, Willie Lee Shields of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters-inlaw, Dora Shields of Cleveland, Ohio and Carrie Banks of Florence, South Carolina; a host of relatives and friends.
