The family of Mother Bessie Scott is eternally grateful to our friends and our church family for words of consolation. Your prayers were pillars of strength during our hours of bereavement. May God bless each of you in His own special way.

The Reverend A. J. Ballard, Pastor The Reverend Jerome Banks, Officiating
Mother Bessie Scott was born on June 10, 1916 to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Campbell in Greenwood, South Carolina. The family later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she met and married George Scott.
Mother Scott became a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend H. G. Gilbert, Jr. She was a faithful member and served many years on the Mother Board.
Mother Scott departed this life on December 10, 2001 . She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Henrietta; two brothers, Alfred and James Lee and his wife; one faithful niece, Evelina and her son, James, Jr.; two nephews, Michael and Napoleon; one loving granddaughter, Shonia; one faithful cousin, Dorothy; and a host of other cousins and friends.
"His eyes are on the sparrow and I know he watches me." The Lord watched over Bessie, and he knew she was tired and worn, and her soul needed rest. So he came and carried her home, because God only wants what's best.
