celebration of the life of Georgiana Jefferson Schumpert.

Togetherness. Death is nothing at all. _I have only slipped away into
the next room. Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Laugh . as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be the household word it always was. let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out ofyour mind because I am out ofyour sight? I am but waiting for you, for as interval, somewhere very real, just around the comer, all is well. Nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as before, only better. Infinitely happier and forever we will all be one, together in Christ.
Lovingly submitted, The Family

A Celebration OfLife
Georgiana Jefferson Schumpert departed this life on Thursday, February 20, 1997. She was born on November 25, 1901 in Virginia. In her teenage years she moved to Keyport, New Jersey to live with her older sister, Maggie, for whom she had deep admiration.
On May 2, 1937 she was united in marriage to Eulus Dowling Schumpert, a widower, becoming mother to his three young children. This happy union continued until the death of Eulus on his birthday, November 6, 1994.
Georgia, as she was affectionately called by her husband and others was baptized into the body of Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of various churches throughout the years, including Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, where she and her husband founded the Spiritual Life Committee. She also served on the Pastor Parish Relation Committee, the Communion Stewarts and the Parsonage Committee. She took active part in the weekly prayer meetings and gave generously of her time and money. Georgia loved gardening, home decorating, cooking and entertaining her many friends and relatives. She was always available to baby sit her grandchildren. The Schumpert's home was always filled with family, friends, love and bustling activities on every Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, thanks to her industrious efforts. During the time of family crisis they were always available for help and support.
She was an energetic woman, a devoted wife and mother who always set high goals for herself and members of her family. Her love and devotion to the family became the center ofher life. Her home served as a source of encouragement, inspiration and counsel for many young members of her family. Although her own formal education was limited, she
was very zealous in her desire that those dear to her pursue the highest educational goals.
As Georgia advanced in years, her thoughts remained centered on the family. She and Eulus moved to Cherry Hill, New Jersey where they had found a lovely apartment with the help of her cousin, Estelle Burch. They were very happy there, but Georgia aware of Eulus illness and her own frailty requested from her great-niece, Alberta Tibbs, that when she could no longer manage she would like her to find a nursing home where she and Eulus could remain together in New Jersey.
When that time accurred, Alberta, after extensive research found the Millhouse Nursing Home in Trenton, New Jersey where Eulus and Georgia spent their last days.
At Millhouse they were surrounded by a loving staff who treated them both with great affection and respect.
She leaves behind a loving sister, Virginia Glen; a brother, Samuel Jefferson; a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Carlton; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-greatgrandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Special mention must be made of her great-niece, Alberta, who was actively involved in her care during her stay in the nursing home.
"Georgia", "Mom", ''Grandma", "Auntie", "Cousin Georgia" we will all remember you with love and appreciation.
