WHAT I WILL Miss
An infectious smile that momentarily made my heart stop
You coming through Mama's door rushing to see what was in
the pots. The way you looked at Skyler and lovingly rubbed his head.
The way your nieces cuul nephews happily danced around your legs.
That quick sense of humor that caused me to laugh without end.
I miss you being my brother and most importantly my friend.
How we stayedup sometimes...all night long.
Tari, momma, you, and I rearranging some hymn or other song.
When we all looked at you, we saw so many things,
Your talents, the way you loved us so, all the promises that life
would bring. No, I did not ask God, why...why my baby brother...
I did ask...do I need to be abetterperson, daughter, sister, or mother?
And that is when the Holy Spirit showed me what I needed to
see ...
He reminded me of the sacrificial lamb that was slaughtered
for you and me.
He, too, was about your age, when he showed love
unconditionally.
Bruised, beaten before an angry crowd, for all to see.
So what did we learn from God giving His only begotten Son?
Why do we continue to give into Satan, and fight with each
other. .. the battle has already been won.
The pain will subside, God's word tells us so.
. Weeping made for a night, joy comes in the 'morrow.
I will be obedient, I wiU try, though it will be hard...and let you rest.
Lie peacefully my beloved brother, my sweet Robbie, upon the
Father's breast.
Uncle Oliver, grandma, daddy, and you are now in your new
heavenly home.
The day is soon approaching when we wiU all be singing God's
praises around His glorious throne.
Songs more beautiful than Tari, Mama, you and I could ever unite.
Fly away, my beautiful, wonderful Robbie, I love you ... take
flight.
OBITUARY
Robert Saxby, Jr. was born to Robert and Betty Saxby on October 6, 1977. He was lovingly called "Robbie" by his family. On February 2, 2009, Robbie was swept into the protective arms of God.
At an early age, Robert established himself as a powerful orator and leader while attending Jones Elementary School. Robert won district oratorical contests and earned the opportunity to work as a page in the State Capitol. He would later be chosen by his peers to address his senior class during graduation. While attending Northeast High School, one of his proud moments was when he earned the opportunity to become a member of the Raider Football Team. However, it was his intellect in school and talents on the soccer field that prompted recruiters to award him a full scholarship to Gordon College where he majored in Physical Therapy. Robert would continue on to enlist into the United States Army where he served as a medic. He furthered his studies in the medical field and became a licensed nurse. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Saxby
Robert is survived by his wife, Sherreco Saxby and their son, Skyler. Robbie is loved and will be missed by his mother, Betty Saxby ofMacon, GA; sisters, Tarica (Derrick) Saxby..Gary of Macon, GA and Traci (Gary) Drew of Suffolk, VA; brothers, Stephen Worriells and Derrick Lee of Savannah, GA. He al~o leaves behind his aunts, Willia Brown, Ernestine Brown, Carolyn Ricks, Jeannita Ricks, Barbara Sturdivant, Elise Saxby, Elise Malone and Daisy McDowell; uncles, Tommy Ricks, Larry, Ricks, Louis Malone and Ed McDowell; mother..in..law, Sheila (Hedrick) Gibson; father..in..Iaw, Nathaniel Lawson; sister..in..Iaw, Shajuway Gibson; brothers..in--law, Qwin Toomer, Jean Gibson and Hedrick Gibson; grandfather..in..law, James L. Wright and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
