Obituazy
On the evening of Friday August 14, 1998 the Angel of Silence descended and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Dorine ..Dora" Sanford. Her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain to a place of eternal rest. She is at peace with God now and rejoicing in her happy heavenly home.
Dorine Sanford was born to the union of the late Joe and Katherine Waller Sanford on April 25, 1914 in Talbot Connty, Georgia. Mter the death of her father Mr. Ed Trice became a father to her.
During her early years she joined a local church in Talbot. County. Later she moved to New York City where she lived for several years. Upon moving back to Georgia she settled in Thomaston and joined the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. RR. Smith.
Of all the beautiful things in life the most beautiful is character, and anyone who possesses a beautiful character is worthy of notice. ..Dora" as friends called her possessed a beautiful character and lived a beautiful life. Her light will always shine through the lives of those she touched along the way.
Her home going is mourned by her daughter-in-law Constance Sanford, of New York City, grandchildren, Andre, Willie, Mitchell, Marvin of New York City, God son Cecil Walker of Thomaston,Ga. God daughter, Sharon Rogers Childs, of Dublin, Ga. A God family Mr. & Mrs. Al Uphold Jr., Patsy (Phil),Jessica, Jolm, Lee, and Alicia all of Thomaston.Ga. A devoted sister, Josephine Rogers,devoted friends Edith Johnson and Salutle Skelton all of Thomaston, Mrs. Minnie Brewster of New York City. A host of cousins, and other friends who will miss her dearly.
