John Carl Samples, Jr. was born on December 11, 1947 to Mr. and Mrs. John Carl Samples, Sr. in Swainsboro, Georgia. He transitioned on Wednesday, AprilS, 2015.
John attended Emanual County Elementary and High School, graduating in 1965. Soon after graduation, he joined the United States Army, serving from 1965 to 1969. John was a gifted and talented artist, carpenter, business owner and avid golfer. He also explored his interest in theater and television, as an actor. He was cast as a central character in the cable television show, "Wally Knows Best", and two stage plays, "Hell Is Not A Game Show" and Christ Is Christmas." In 2008, John was ordained as an Elder at Living Worship International Ministries in Decatur, Georgia.
John was joined in holy matrimony on December 26, 1970 to Frances B. Samples, for 44 years. Their union birth four children: Terea Samples (Kim), the late Angela D. Blanford, Stacey C. Samples and Bryce C. Samples (Ola Shade'). He was the proud grandfather of Ebony S. Samples, Karlen G. Samples and Kennedy R.C. Brooks.
John leaves to cherish his memories, sisters: Mary A Strobridge, Nancy
Shimoyama, the late Linda Samples, Andrea Elliott (Steve), and Sophia Neal (Tom); brothers: Jerome Samples and Christopher Samples (Roxanne). He also leaves a host of loving aunts, uncles, sisters,in,law, brothers,in,law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Our prayers have all been answered, I've finally arrived;
The healing that had been delayed, has now been realized. No one is in a hurry, there's no schedule to keep;
We're all enjoying Jesus, just sitting at his feet. If you could see me now, I'm walking streets of gold;
If you could see me now, I'm standing tall and whole. If you could see me now, you'd know I'd seen his face .
You'd know the pain is erased. If you could see me now, you wouldn't want me to leave this place,
If only you could see me now!
