OBITUARY
Mrs. Herbert Lee Safford was born February 18, 1940 to the late Mr. Arceious and Lucy Watson in Dallas County. She was later raised by Mrs. Francis Watson of Selma, Alabama.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church then later moved to Brooklyn, New York and joined the Antioch Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Universal Masonic Brotherhood Chapel No. 162.
She was employed for twenty years by Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development . Center.
On Saturday evening, August 15, 1992 our Heavenly F3ther saWfit to call His set-vant, Sis. Herbert Lee Safford to her Heavenly home.
Sis. Safford bids farewell to her loving family: a devoted husband, Mr. James Safford, Sr.; two daughters: Lucy Watson, Nettie Landcaster (Bruce); two sons, James Safford Jr. (Geraldine) and Dexter Safford (Denise) all of Brooklyn, New York; five sisters-in-law: Dorothy Porter, Mary Frades Pettaway, Dora Keith (Willie), and Mattie Phillips, all of Selma, AL, Mrs. Pear lie McDonald ( Randale) of Cincinnatti, OH; one brother-in-law, John Weaver Jr. of Selma; one aunt; four uncles, eight grand children, one great grand, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
