Reverend Norman Thomas, Jr., Pastor Officiating

Mr. Joseph"Joe" Rousseau was born in Thomaston, Georgia
on February 4, 1941. He was one of fourteen children born to
the late J. Z. Rousseau and Rosa Dykes Rousseau. He had a smile that would light up a room and loved to joke and laugh. Joe was a product of the Upson County Public School System
and graduated from Drake High School in 1959.
He joined the Atlanta Fire Department in 1964 where he
dedicated 30 years of service to saving lives. Joe retired as Battalion Chief, and was well respected by his peers.
Joe was the proud father of one beloved daughter, Doretha Chanel, and two sons, both preceded him in death, Joseph, Jr. and Darryl. He was a supportive father and excellent provider.
Joe was a dedicated and faithful member of First Baptist Church. He served on numerous auxiliaries, including the Board of Trustees, Usher Board, Pastoral Search Committee, and Bus Ministry until he became ill and could no longer attend service.
On October 27, 2013, Joe's earthly journey ended. He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Doretha R. Smith (Harris); four siblings, Louise Robinson, G. W. Rousseau, Edward Rousseau (Minnie), and Joel Rousseau (Dorothy); four grandchildren, Nigel Smith, Anthony Stewart, Deena and Danielle Mclean; and a host of other family and friends.
