Mrs. Martha J. Ross was born July 11, 1930 to Rosa D . and the late George
Smith, the third of 4 children born to this union.
l\Iartha was educated by the ..-\tlanta Public School System and lived her life in both East Point and ..-\tlanta, Georgia.
Bap tized at an early age at St. Paul .AME Church, but she later joined New Grants Temple ..--\:0-.IE Church where she maintained her membership until her deatl1.
Martha was a vibrant and creative spirit. Among her hobbies and interests were indoor and outdoor gardening, sewing, interior decorating and her prime passion, shopping. She was a member of the renowned Georgia .i\Iass Choir for a while. She had a God-given spirit, which opened her heart and the love in it to help those in need unselfishly. She served as "God Mother" to numerous young children during her long life.
Her father, brother and son G arland preceded her in death. The Lord called Martha to eternal rest on April 13, 2004.
She leaves to cherish her m em ory: Mother, Mrs. Rosa D. Smith; Children - Charles (Mary), Godfrey Bernard, Beverly (Mundo), Yvonne, Anita, Kim and Juaquita; Sister - Mrs. Dorothy Hatton; Brother - Mr. Samuel Dorsey; 21 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, countless friends, godchildren and many others who reaped the benefits of Martha's love.
Gone is theface we love so dear Silen t is the voice we loved to hear. Too far away fro m sight or speech Bu t no t too far for our thoughts to reach.
Happy and smiling, always content Loved and respected where ever she went.
Always willing, thoughtful and kind Wha t a beautiful memon; she left behind.
