OBITUARY

Derrick Keith Ross was born on January 7, 1971 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Deborah Ross-Lakes and Robert Harris. His father preceded him in death. At an early age, Derrick developed a close relationship with the Lord, his family and friends. He was Mr. Personality where ever he went. He had a very big heart and especially enjoyed spending time helping others. He enjoyed mentoring younger people and teaching them about life. He also enjoyed bike riding in Piedmont Park with his cousins.

Derrick appreciated the time he shared with Dexter, Jimmy, Ben, Gerald, Thomas and Larry, his close friends. He departed this earth with the love of his life who was his best friend and fiance, Susan Clarke. They were inseparable. If Derrick was there, so was Sue. They were to be married July 15, 2017.

In the absence of his father, Derrick was motivated by his mother Deborah to accomplish his many achievements in his life. Their mother- son relationship was unmatched.

In 1989 Derrick graduated from West Fulton High School. He

continued to support his high school and friendships with his

classmates. Derrick accomplished numerous academic achieve-

ments in his life, including attending DeVry Technical College

in Dekalb County, as well as completing truck driver training at

CRST Training Facility. Derrick also worked at the Penn

Company. He was currently working at Toto USA Inc. When

he passed. Derrick was preceded in death by his dad Robert Harris; his

,

maternal grandparents, John Ross and Teresa Lewis-Ross; and

a special cousin Tasha Ross-Washington.

Derrick leaves to cherish his loving memory; his son Xzavyer Ross and daughter Diamond Askin, his devoted, loving mother Deborah Ross-Lakes (Willie) of College Park, GA; sisters, Michelle Harris, Nikki Harris, Keisha Cato- Holloman of Louisville, KY; brothers Corey Lamont Ross, College Park, GA, Gilliam J. Lakes (Zilphia), Jason Lakes, Wendal Tillman;

Other devoted relatives are: Great Aunt Barbara Ross-Robinson; Aunts Cassandra Williams, Lorraine Ross-Walton (David); Clara Ross, Christine Ross Smith (Kenny) Angetti Ross McLaughlin (James), Virginia Culbreath, Anne Laye (Ridley), Patricia Johnson (William) and Katherine Brown; Uncles, Versalias Lakes (Gwen); a devoted nephew Jacorey Ross; nieces, Angelina Elizabeth Polo Ross; Khyle Nicole Polo Ross; Special devoted cousins, Felicia Nelson, Andrea Felton, Denise Washington, Angela Ezell, Darryle Walton, David Walton, Tommy Walton and Sharon Ross; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
