Mr. William I. Rose (P.L.) was born on October 15, 1938 to the
I'
late Richard Rose and Layunia Crowe Rose. He was one of seven
children.
At an early age in Atlanta, Georgia he meet and married Lannie
Moreland. They were married for over 50 years before she

transitioned.
William loved the Lord and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He attended E. P. Jones Elementary School and graduated from David T. Howard High School in 1957.
Always a diligent and hard worker, William started working at an early age. He was employed several years at Emory University as an assistant head Baker until 1969. Shortly after leaving Emory William joined the City of Atlanta Fire Department. Where he was a part of the second group of black firefighters to integrate the fire department. William retired in 1994 after 25 years of service. During this time he was also employed with Local 927 as a committed stage hand employee.
William was loved by so many and had a big heart when it came to helping others. He was always supportive of family members. He called himself, "The Grill Master". He enjoyed grilling, playing cards, yard work, and antique cars.
Mr. Rose leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Gwen and Vickie, son, Thomas, grandson, JaW, a special sister-in-law, Sallie, niece, Nicole and several godchildren, Shonda, Parkeya, Linnie, Cara, Erica, Jazzeraughn, Brian and a host of family and friends.
