TRIBUTE TO OUR DADDY
"The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him."
Proverbs 20: 7 Daddy, we are powerfully influenced and blessed because of your teachings and the examples you set. Words can not adequately describe how grateful we are or how much we love and respect you. Your guidance and words of wisdom, throughout the years, always served as pillars of strength for us. We will never forget that you taught us to be tough enough to fight, tender enough to cry, human enough to make mistakes, humble enough to admit them, strong enough to absorb the pain, and resilient enough to bounce back and move on. Though you have passed away, you will never be forgotten. We thank God for you.
We will always love you, Heyward, Jr. & Florence
Expression of Love and Appreciation
How blessed we are to not only have known you, but to have you as a father, father-in-law and grandfather. How wonderful it has been over the years to have enjoyed your presence and influence in our lives. We will always remember your infectious smile and gentle way of encouraging us to achieve our goals. While, emotionally we are sad because you are no longer with us physically, our spirit rejoices because you are at rest. You are with our Lord . You will be missed here on earth, but you will always be in our hearts!
With Love, Deborah, Reginald and Ashley
Special Hero
by Christina M. Kerschen
When I was a baby, you would hold me in your arms. I felt the love and tenderness, keeping me safe from harm. I would look up into your eyes, and all the love I would see. How did I get so lucky, you were the dad chosen for me. There is something special about a father's love. Seems it was sent to me from someplace up above. Our love is everlasting, I just wanted you to know. That you're my special hero and I wanted to tell you so.
Love, Karen

SHE LEARNED FROM THE BEST

Mid-afternoon drives on a long road from a local ele-

~

mentary school was when she learned the most. Discus-

sions with a wise man spawned the intellect of a young

impressionable girl from whom she learned the best.

Late evenings watching political debates and national

~~ headlines with Larry King was how she was groomed. ~

Researching answers to homework questions in an ency-

~ clopedia while eating ice cream and sharing laughs ~

helped her get through from whom she learned from the ~~ best. At times when she was angered by a trivial dis-

agreement, a wise man was the voice of reason to a young, irrational schoolgirl. When in time of conflict

~~
~

and confusion, this wise man remained composed.

s~~

Through the eyes of a young schoolgirl this wise man would never grow old. As time drifted by and roles

~ ~~

~ were reversed, the lessons of a wise man remained re- ~

hearsed as she is always reminded that she learned from

22 the best.
