The late Josephine M. Robinson was born June 1, 1935 to the late James and Pauline (Finnie) Matthews in McDonough, Georgia. She was one of eight children. She peacefully departed this life on November 6, 2016 after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her brothers James, Jr., Bobby, Edward, and Jerry Matthews; one sister, Evelyn Matthews; and her beloved son, James R. Robins on, Jr.
Josephine educated in the Adanta Public School System and later attended Clark College. She worked in the banking industry for over 30 years with Bank of America, retiring in 2001.
At an early age, Josephine joined Lindsay Street Baptist Church where she has been an active member for over 75 years.
As a young lady, Josephine married James R. Robinson and that union brought two children, James, Jr. and Corrine whom she loved and admired dearly.
She departed her earthly life peacefully on Sunday morning, November 6, 2016.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Corrine Robinson (Plez) Joyner; one granddaughter, Corrina Simone Joyner; two sisters, Ida Ruth (Richard) Mitchell and Betty (Earl) Swanson; one brother, Fred Matthews and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
