John W. Robinson was born Johnnie William Robinson on November 8, 1916 to the proud parents Mary & John Robinson. He was the eldest of 7.
He was educated in the Dekalb County School System. May 1941, he married the love of his life Miss Blanche Scott. This union lasted more than 50 years until November 1992 when she preceded him in death.
He joined the Union Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully until his health failed. He served the church in many capacities. He served as chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. He worked for the Dekalb County School System until he retired. He loved to sing and was one of the original members of the Ever Ready Gospel Singers. They traveled extensively appearing on programs throughout Georgia and the South East. They were heard on WAOK on Sunday morning for many years.
John was a lover of family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors to forever cherish his memory are, brother Willie 0' Neal Robinson, adopted sister Maggie Smith,sister in laws, Mrs. Mary Robinson, Mrs. Nell Roberts, Brother in laws, Mr. Ben Roberts, Mr. James Lester, Mr. Willie Anderson, Mr. Charles Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
