Rev. Hayward \Vhite, ]r., Pastor Officiating
Mrs. Johnnie Mae Robinson was born November 17, 1940 to the late Johnny Bynes and Inez Mack-Weaver in Atlanta, Georgia. During her early years she was reared by her uncle and aunt, Vanderbilt "Monk" and Willie Mae Coleman. When she became a teenager she relocated to Savannah, Georgia to U<ve with her father, Johnny and step-moth.er Mary Bynes.
Mrs. Robinson was educated in the Atlanta Public and Chatham County School
Systems. She received her LPN license and worked at Grady Hospital in Atlanta,
Georgia. She was also an amateur artist who enjoyed drawing portraits and painting.
On September 19, 1965, Johnnie Mae married her high school sweetheart, Rev. Ernest Robinson (who preceded her in death) and to this union, three children were born; Valerie, Velma and Kenneth. After marrying and having children she decided to become a stay-at-home wife and mother who was devoted to her family.
In her adult life she joined Turner Monumental A.M. E. Church with her husband and children. Although she didn't attend church every Sunday, she never failed to drive her husband and children to sen1ices. She did this until her health failed then other church members picked up and returned Rev. Robinson and Kenneth every Sunday. Mrs. Robinson was a kind, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, neighbor and friend.
On September 5, 2008 she transitioned from this earthly home to be with those who have gone before. She leaves to cherish her memories: three (3) Children, Valerie Paul, Velma Robinson (Christman Hampton) and Kenneth Robinson; seven (7) grandchildren, Valencia, Timothy Jr., Vanessa, Vincent, Kendan, Jordan and Sydney; four (4) great-grandchildren, Walter, Alex, Melanie and Tyler; stepmother, Elder Mary Bynes; two (2) step-sisters, Luella McNeal and Patricia Stephenson, and a host of other rdatives and friends.
