Mother Iona Robinson was born on September 18, 1902 in Forsyth, Georgia. She was one of four children of the late Mattie Price and John Chambers.
She moved to Atlanta at an early age. The majority of her career was spent as a domestic worker for some of Atlanta's premier families.
In a lifetime strengthened by a deep religious faith, she earned the love and respect of her community. Although she never bore children, she was known to many as "MOTHER. " She accepted CHRIST at an early age and served as a devoted member of Siloam Baptist Church for many years. Her life's passion was her church, where she served in many areas with dedication, love and enthusiasm.
On August 11, 1998, Mother Robinson found eternal peace. She is survived by her niece, Betty Ross; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Sunrise
"I'm no: lookingfor the sunset As the swift years come and go
I'm lookingfor the sunrise And the golden morning glow, Where the light ofheaven's giory Will breakforth upon my sight In the land that knows no sunset,
Nor the Darkness ofnight. I'm not going DOWN the pathway
Toward the setting ofthe sun. Where the shadows ever deepen
When the day at last is done; I am walking UP the hillside Where the sunshine lights the way
To the glory ofthe sunrise OfGod's never-ending day. I'm not going DOWN but UPWARD And the path is never dim For the day grows even brighter As I journey on with Him. So my eyes are on the hilltops Waiting for the sun to rise, Waiting for HIS invitation To that HOME beyond the Skies. "
