THE PROFILE OF LIFE
"Should you go first and I remain To walk the road alone, I'll live in memory dear
With happy days we've known."
It is said that there are three words in the English vocabulary that are more solemn than all others - Life, Death and Eternity. Life is more solemn than death; to live is more serious than to die. A Christian's death gives him a more abundant life.
Phineas Lenardo Roberts, only child of Enoch and Mary Evans Roberts, was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 14, 1957. He J attended St. Mary's and Sacred Heart Catholic Schools, Beach Junior High School and graduated from Windsor Forest High School. He matriculated at Savannah State College where he received his B. S. degree in Biology.
In 1978 he moved to Atlanta and joined the Southern Bell Telephone Company as a Computer Analyst. He pursued post graduate studies at Atlanta University and Georgia State University. Phineas was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
During his life span, he was baptized at an early age a.nd was an
active member of St. Phi~li~ Monumental A.M.E. Church. Immediately,
ency . upon taking up . res! :
in Atlanta, he affiliated himself.with Big
Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was active in the choir and traveled with the
choir in the presentation of " God's Trombone" which made its
appearance recently in Savannah.
