George W. Robertson, Jr., a son of the late George W. and Eliza McCollum Robertson, was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina.
At an early age, he joined Little Salem Christian Church; and was President of the Senior Choir until his illness.
In 1956, he was united in Holy Wedlock to Carleen Rivers Dillard in Reidsville, North Carolina.
"Bud," as he was lovingly known, was a former employee of the American Tobacco Company and later became Owner and Operator of Robertson's Taxi Service. He was the oldest taxi driver in Reidsville, North Carolina.
He was well-known and well-liked in his community. His pleasant personality endeared him to his family and friends.
He died Thursday, January 17, 1980 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital, Reidsville, North Carolina.
Lamenting his demise are: wife, Mrs. Carleen Rivers Robertson; one brother, John H. Robertson, Reidsville, North Carolina; two nieces, Mrs. Willie A. Jordan and Mrs. Elizabeth Jennings, New York City; one nephew, Haywood Vaughn, Maryland Park, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Sophronia Robertson, Reidsville, North Carolina; other relatives and friends.
We do not lose the ones we love, They only go before,
Where there is everlasting life, Where sorrow is no more.
There the soul will always live And peace is everywhere;
We do not lose the ones we loveGod takes them in His care.
