Even in times of trouble Lord one thing is certain and true, whenever our minds get so uneasy, we know we can always count on you. Now from morning until night we can go through each and every day with a heart that is calm and hopeful because your love is guiding our way. We use this to say "THANKS" to all of our many friends for all the kind expressions of love during our bereavement.

Our beloved Shirley Ann Parker was born August 1, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Oscar and Bessie Parker. Shirley attended Lynwood Park School in DeKalb County. Later, she married James Roach.
Her fondness of culinary arts paved the way to her career as a senior chef at Ashton Woods Convalescent Center and Northside Hospital. Next to cooking, gardening and home decorating were her hobbies. Music and social gatherings also played a major role in her life. Shirley did not have any biological children, as a result, she devoted most of her time and energy to as a caregiver to family members.
On August 31, 2014, at the age of 71, Shirley departed this life. She is survived by her siblings, Marion Parker, Ray Charles Parker, and Pamela Parker; nieces and nephews, Jody and Gabrielle King, Claudette McGuire, and Timica Parker; greatnieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Fallen Limb A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again
