Committal - Benediction - Interment Bamberg County Memory Gardens Highway78 Bamberg, South Carolina 29003

Brian Costalante Richburg, son of the late Reverend Charles and Mrs. Christine Nimmons Richberg, was born on September 16, 1969 in Bamberg, South Carolina. He was reared in the small rural area called the Middle Place community in Govan, South Carolina. Brian was the youngest sibling of five, one of which preceded him in death, Craig L. Richburg. He entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 24, 2015 , in Columbia, South Carolina.
At an early age, Brian joined the Honey Ford Baptist Church and was active even as a youth. He sang on the Sunbeam Choir, served on the Junior Missionary Board, and was active with the youth division of the Mount Calvary Baptist Training Union.
Brian matriculated through the Denmark School District to complete his secondary education in 1987 at Denmark-Olar High School. He continued his education at South Carolina State Unive.rsity, having earned both the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 and the Master of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. After graduating, he pursued his professional goals in the Atlanta, Georgia Metropolitan area, where he resided until his transition. He was an integral part of the community as an active member of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of South Carolina State University and a past member of the 100 Black Men of South Metro, Inc. In Georgia, Brian built his career as a licensed therapist. Working as a specialty educator with the Georgia Public School Systems, he greatly impacted lives, many through his valued work with schools, families, and medical facilities as an independent consultant. Also, Brian served many as a real estate proprietor in the Atlanta suburbs, where he established the CNIM, LLC.
Although an entrepreneur and professional in his own right, most importantly, Brian followed the church covenant to fulfill his membership once he moved away from his home church. Cascade United Methodist Church became his church home as he joined on August 25 , 2002. Eager to become a servant leader, he joined the Discipleship Ministry. He also found a place to maximize his spiritual gifts at Cascade. Brian exuded love anq had a knack for hospitality. He had such a welcoming spirit that would warm the hearts of anyone with whom he came in contact. Consequently, he was a member of the Hospitality Ministry, Emergency Care Team, and the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee. As a faithful member, he supported numerous church events, volunteered to cook his best dishes for Real Men Cook, as well as hosted ministry meetings and celebrations at his home. Brian even had the opportunity to display his drama skills. Brian was especially proud of his performances as a soldier in "Bow the Knee" and a shepherd in the liye, drive-thru presentation of "Christmas Na1tivity." However, his selection as a 2015 Lay Delegate to the Annual Conference delighted him most.
In the midst of all the educational attainment, professional work, and community service, Brian significantly loved and valued family. To cherish his jovial memories, he leaves three siblings: Charles Christopher (Hazel) Richberg of Kinston, NC, Samuel Matthew (Carmen) Richberg of Greensboro, NC, and Dr. Gwenda Charlene (Hayward) Greene of Columbia, SC; four nephews: Charles Christopher (Nichole) Richberg, Karl Oennifer) Wood, Brandon S.K. Richberg, and Charles Alexander Greene; one niece: Attorney Shayla Christine Richberg; three cherished great-nieces: Gabrielle Lianna, Erin MacKenzie, and Sydney Michelle Richberg; and, a host of other relatives and friends.

Our mama's little baby, Brian Costalante. You are just gone . . .too, too soon. I would give anything for one more hug, one more smart remark, and one more BIG laugh! Who's going to make the punch? Who 's going to beautifully wrap gifts? Who 's going with me to Tuten's Fried Chicken? Who? Your smile was magnetic. Your hazel eyes were captivating. Housekeeping was certainly NOT your forte but hospitality was truly your gift. You could make anyone laugh and put them in their place at the same time. All I am really saying is that I will miss you and I love you soooo much. I probably didn't say it enough, but I hope you have always known through my actions. No one would dare bother Brian, in my eyes. The pain of losing you will never go away; in our hearts and memories, you will always stay. Even that smirk look and tone you gave just before you took your last breathe. It made me laugh in the midst of trauma (LOL)! Brian, you have been so good to so many people. I say to you, my baby brother, well done, thou good and faithful servant. .. Your work here is done. Many, like me, want to hear your voice again, but God has called you home.
We love you and I will miss you most. Say Hi to Mom, Dad, and Craig, and don't y'all cut up in
heaven. Good night my baby brother.
Rest in peace!

If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane.
we would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken, No time to say "Goodbye."
You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.
Our hearts still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you No one can ever know.
But now we know you want us to mourn for you no more;
To remember all the happy times I life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today--
Ahollowed place within our hearts is where you'll always stay.

I have come to the end ofmy journey And I have travelled my last weary mile.
just forget, ifyou can, that I everfrowned.
And remember only the smile.
Forget those smart words I have spoken. Remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache And remember fve had loads offun.
Forget that fve stumbled and blundered And many times fell by the way.
Please know that I have fought some hard battles And won, ere the close ofthe day.
Please do not grieve for my going. I would not have you sadfor a day. But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay.
just come in the shade ofevening When the sun paints the sky in the west.
Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best.
