The radiant life of our beautiful beloved one, Mrs. Naomi Ethalia Littlejohn Reid of 212 Camellia Circle, Gaffney, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Wednesday night, November 12, 2014, at 9:47P.M. at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, South Carolina, as she went home to live with the Lord.
Daughter of the late Allene and Ella Mae Dawkins Littlejohn, she was hom on November 23, 1940, in Gaffney, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Reid; a brother, Allene Littlejohn; and a sister; Doris Littlejohn. She was united in holy matrimony to Thomas R. Reid in 1972.
At an early age she was converted, accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Dunton United Methodist Church and was a dedicated and active member. At Dunton she served faithfully as a member of the Choir, Kitchen, Worship and Nurture Committees and the Administration Board; the Communion Steward; a former Usher, and served in other positions. She attended Bible Study each week. Naomi served as Cluster 5 Leader with the Spartanburg United Methodist Women Organization. Naomi was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Granard High Schoo~ Class of 1958. She was a retired employee of Hoechest Fibers.
Naomi loved the Lord, her family, church, neighbors, friends and all people. She will always be remembered for the love and support that she gave to her family, church, friends and to all she was around. Naomi would greet you with a loving smile that would always warm your heart. She was a source of love, joy and inspiration to all who knew her. The memories of her will always be cherished in our hearts and in the hearts of many. We loved her. She will be missed gready.
Fond memories are left to cherish by her loving family: her faithful husband of 42 years, Thomas R. Reid of the home; her sons, Kirkland, Corey (Michelle) and Timothy, all of Gaffney, South Carolina; their sister, Quensinia of Charlotte, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Kourtney of Gaffney, South Carolina, who was reared in the home; brothers, Pervis (Betty) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Freddie (Gale) of Las Vegas Nevada; her brother-in-law, Samuel H. Reid (Ida) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Juanita R. Jordan of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Gwendolyn Fincher of Gaffney, South Carolina; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
