Janie Mae Ramsey was born February 26, 1927 in Columbus, Georgia to the late James and Georgia Benning. She had ten siblings. She married Morgan H. Ramsey on October 7, 1944. To this union, they had four daughters and two sons.
Janie enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was known for her sweet potato pies. She was a lady who was outspoken and honest and would always speak what was on her tnind. She loved her family and they truly loved her and she was a joyful blessing to the family.
Janie was preceded in death by faithful husband of 27 years, Morgan Ratnsey, and two daughters, Lucille Benning and Maria Ramsey. She is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Highsmith (Tunzy) and Tijuana Ramsey, sonsBobby Ratnsey (Ardine) and Billy Ramsey, brother Johnny Benning and sister Georgia Fluellen, grandsons Gary, Derell, and Trey Ramsey, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
