Mrs. Jewel Lee Burden Price
Born- January 3, 1929
Mrs. Jewel Lee Burden Price was born January 3, 1929 to the late James and Alma Burden of Macon, Georgia. At an early age, Jewel became a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. There she was baptized and received Christ as her Savior.
Jewel was educated in the Bibb County School System where she attended the Ballard Normal High School. She became a certified cosmetologist and later attended Fort Valley State University.
On May 18, 1946, Jewel married Mr. Charlie Joseph Price, and from this union of fifty-eight years five children were born. After marrying C.J. Price, Jewel joined the Holsey Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board, the D.L. Gorham Club, and the Holsey Juniors.
For many years, Mrs. Price used her skills as a cosmetologist. Later she was employed with the Bibb County School System, where she worked from 1967-1978. She was one of the first to work as a Para-Professional in the Para-Professional Program implemented in the Bibb County School System in 1967. During her tenure, she worked at the following schools: Ballard Hudson Junior High, Minnie Butler Elementary, and Unionville Elementary.
Mrs. Price was a member of the Zeta Ameki Sorority. Preceding Jewel in death was her daughter, Felisa Louise Price, her sister, Annie Lois Lockett, and a great granddaughter, Niya S. Price.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Charlie J. Price, Sr.; daughter, Cheryl Ann Price; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie J. Price, Jr. (Julia), Reverend Jerome B. Price, Sr. (Pamala), and Reverend Timothy W. Price, Sr. (Hazel). She also leaves one sister, Gerline Walker of Trenton, New Jersey; one brother, Sam Hagan (Althea) of Washington, D.C.; one uncle, Isaiah H. Milner, Sr.; one brother-in-law, William R. Price, Sr.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; faithful nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

THE TREE OF LIFE
The limbs are your children That you raised and taught well. The branches are your grandchildren That you also raised and taught so well.
The leaves large and small Are your great grandchildren. They are being taught and raised
by the branches and limbs.
We are all part of the Tree of Life here on earth given life by your and Daddy.
Thank you for giving us life and teaching us here on earth.
The earthly Tree of Life, which is your family.
We know that you are now a part of the heavenly Tree of Life.
We love you, Your Children
