Against all odds, I carried you almost nine months. Spending most of them in the doctor's office trying to keep from losing you. After my being chased by a big dog, they finally thought they'd bring you into this, oh such a cruel world.

From the moment you were born there's been a special bond between us, because I thought this one is going to be mine. You see, your sister was sort of your daddy's and grandaddy 's.

You never did want anybody else, why, you even cried ifanybody else came in the house for the first year ofyour life. It was mighty hard to get a baby sitter that way.

You got a little older and went off to kindergarten and was ready to quit after your first day. I fixed it for you though, I told your teacher she talked too loud.

You weren't really a bad kid, you were just too smart, intelli$ently.wis~ for your teachers; they always complained because you tried to teach their class.

The only real problem you always had

was your birthday. Each year I was '{unazed ;{it

This year though, there wasn't anything, just a

mild dull day. Little did I know that it would be

the last one you would have on this earth.

Don't think of him as gone away -

his journey's just begun,

life holds so many facets -

this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting

from the sorrows and the tears

in a place of warmth and comfort

where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.

And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched ...
for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
