Willie Lee Porterfield was born on May 24, 1922, in Lowndes County, Alabama to Willie and Mary Patterson. She departed this life November 28, 2002 in Brewton, Alabama.
After spending her formative years in Montgomery County, she moved to Brewton in the early 1940's. She became a member of the Baptist Hill Church and Community; serving in the Baptist Hill Women's Missionary and other church organizations. She was an active member of her community and was known for her kindness, warm smile and outgoing personality.
Willie Lee Porterfield was employed as an assembler at Rivermill Textiles, where she retired. Upon retirement, she traveled to Alaska, North Carolina and Chicago to visit family and friends. She took pride in the accomplishments of her daughter, Gladys and was a loving grandmother to Trajan and Trista. Willie enjoyed shopping and socializing with her many friends in Brewton.
Cherished memories she leaves to her devoted and beloved daughter, Gladys Louise Langdon and son-in-law Steve Langdon of Anchorage, Alaska; her grandson Trajan S. Langdon of Virginia; granddaughter, Trista K. Langdon of Anchorage, Alaska; her nephew, Willie Frank Moore, Jr., a host of other relatives and friends, including her church family at Baptist Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry Patterson and sister, Mary Moore.
