She was born October 31, 1939, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Floyd (Elizabeth) Jones, in Sharon, GA. Siblings preceding her in death were: Lizzie Hannah, Susie Ward, and Bertha Coats. Grandson preceding her in death was Johnathan Davis.
Daisy attended Burney Street School in Morgan County, where she graduated. To further her education, she graduated from Atlanta Area Tech. Daisy joined New Enon Baptist Church at an early age. After moving to Atlanta, she joined Free For All Missionary Baptist Church. Then later, Daisy moved her membership to Mt. Carmel AME Church where she was a faithful servant until death. She held the following positions at Mt. Carmel AME Church: Food Service Coordinator, member of the Pastor's Aid Board, Treasury of the Stewardess Board, Vice -President of Women Missionary Society, and member of the Prayer Warrior Ministry.
Daisy was employed by The Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA for many years. She \Vas also employed for 50 years by Mrs. Elyce Haverty.
On December 13, 2013 , Daisy Lee Phillips, was called home to rest with God. She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter, Soisette (Malcolm) Smith, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Xavier Davis, ShaKqwanea Phillips, and Aarianna Phillips, Atlanta, GA; greatgrandchildren, Serenity Felton and Sion Felton, Atlanta, GA; brothers, William G. Jones , Sr.(Minnie), Atlanta, GA, Clarence Jones, Warner Robbins, GA; sisters, Ethel Jones, Rosaline Jones, Miami, FL, Dorothy Carter, Lynda Davis, Madison, GA, Shirley Jones, Atlanta, GA, and a host of relatives and friends .
