Obituary
Mattie Mae Phelps was born on July 7, 1927 to the late Mr. Rufus and Thessalonia Berry in Henry County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Eddie Lee Phelps, 3 children: Brenda Sue Phelps, Henrietta HChicken H Phelps and Janice Yvonne Phelps Gleaton. Siblings: 1 sister, Janie Gleaton, and three brothers Roy Berry, Alfonzo Berry, and Clarence Berry.
She was a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and on the Motherboard. Her favorite scripture was the 23 Psalm.
She leaves nine (9) children Mildred Hines, Carolyn Scott, Eddie James Phelps, Herman (Nadine) Phelps, Steve (Peggy) Phelps, Ernestine Phelps, Melvin (Dale) Phelps, Timothy Phelps, and Sherry! (Iverson) Martin. 2 sister-in-laws, Dorothy Phelps and Annie HLena" Jackson, along with Fourteen Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
