Mattie T. Reid Parks was born on August 8, 1922 to the late James A. and Annie M. Reid in Five Points, Alabama.
She departed this life on April 15, 2013 at Florence Hand Nursing Home in LaGrange, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eve T. Parks of Decatur, Georgia.
Mattie T. Reid Parks was an educator before becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked at Grady Hospital for a number of years before working at a general practitioner's clinic for some thirty years.
She was a faithful member of the Greenforest Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia.
Mattie T. Reid Parks is survived by: one brother, Joe Cameron of LaGrange, Georgia; one sister, Melba Cosby of Seaside, California; one aunt, Estella Trammell (105 years old) of Roanoke, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
