The Reverend Richard Wilson Owens Sr., Ph.D
Richard Wilson Owens was born on April 29, 1941 to the late Walter Eugene and
Allean Spenser Owens in Tampa, Florida. He entered his eternal li_fe on Tuesday,
January 23, 2001.
He leaves cherished moments and precious memories with his loving wife, Ella Phelps Owens; Six children: Richard W. Owens Jr., Sonjia Owens, Chez Owens Chapman, liadonnasanova Owens, Contrina Compton, Lester Wilder/Valerie; Siblings: Catherine Deablo, Marvin Owens and Sandra Nelson, all of Tampa, Florida; twelve grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends .
Or. Owens, most recently, provided service as pastor of Trinity U.M.C. located in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been a pastor, counselor, coach, trainer, seminar leader and a consultant. He's had ave:- fifteen years experience in psychotherapy and has worked for/with numerous religious organizations, public and private agencies as well as established his own private practice. He developed and directed a Christian counseling center in a local church which has a membership exceeding nine thousand.
During the year 2000, he started his own publishing company, "Protheus Publishing "
under which he published his last book, "A Teachable Spirit ". His past includes a plethora of other books as well as poetry and music writings.
Reverend Richard W. Owens, a true man of God, a caring and considerate husband, a compassionate friend and an unconditionally loving Father; will be deeply missed but forever loved and living in the hearts of all of those who knew him.
