Mrs. Connie Stephens Owens, the youngest of seven children, was born September 19, 1949 to the late James A. Stephens and Delphia H. Stephens.
She was united in matrimony to the late Darrell S. Owens, Sr. and to this union, Jacinda, Darrell Jr., and Toni, were born. She was baptized at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Austell Elementary School at the early age of four years and attended Lemon Street High School for a short time and then attended and graduated from C. L. Harper High School at the young age of sixteen years as valedictorian of her class. She also attended Georgia State College.
She was a dedicated employee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia for twenty-one years. She was a very talented singer and dancer. She was very gifted in writing poetry and short children stories. This was always her passion as well as being a computer wiz having over one hundred four key strokes.
Mrs. Owens departed this life on March 31, 1999. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, mother, Delphia H. Stephens; son, Darrell S. Owens, Jr.; daughters, Jacinda 0. Davis and Toni E. Owens; five grandchildren, Tarria, Lucious, Diquane, Octavious, and Devantez; son-in-law, Lucious C. Davis, Ill; devoted friends, Kimberly Green and Jarvis Cummings; four brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stephens (Jessie), John Stephens, Bobby Stephens, and Herman Stephens; two sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baker (Betty) and Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Nichols (Carlene); motherin-law, Mrs. RaynoIa S. Owens; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
