Perhaps you came over and sat with the family. Perhaps you sent flowers or a meal. Perhaps you sent or spoke comforting words or just said a prayer. Perhaps you rendered a service unseen, right here or from afar. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we appreciate your acts of kindness more than you will know.

The Life ofSharon Bearden Oglesby
Sharon Bearden was born on November 20, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia. She was the loving daughter of the late Bishop Harold Irwin and the late Mrs. Louis M. Bearden, who served as pastor and first lady of Big Bethel A.M.E. Church. Sharon attended Atlanta Public Schools and completed her degree in Education from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, a school that originated from her home church, Big Bethel.
She loved working with children and was a teacher when she met and married James Oglesby. From their union, they were blessed with a son, Christopher and a daughter, Velda. Sharon became a stay-at-home mom, not only to her children, but to countless others who affectionately called her, "Ms. Sharon".
In 1994, she became a doting grandmother, a role she truly embraced and loved. Over the years, she played a pivotal role in caring for her grandchildren, often comparing them to her children when they were younger.
During her illness, she was surrounded by the love of her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends, who now believe she is resting in God's peace, until they meet again.
Sharon leaves behind her husband, James Oglesby, who will miss her dearly; a devoted daughter, Velda Oglesby; a loving son and daughter-in-law, Christopher (Kassandra) Oglesby; a stepson, Jarrell Miller; grandchildren, Kennedy, Kayla, Xavier, Noah and Robert; a sister and brother, Ms. Gloria Pearson and Mr. Richard L. Bearden; her aunt, Mrs. Gertrude Barber; a best friend of 40 years, Mrs. Jean Lockhart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding her in death were her siblings, Mrs. JoAnn Vickers, Mr. Harold Bearden, Jr. and Mr. Lloyd C. Bearden; a son-in-law, Rasheed Wasi and daughter-in-law, Wendy Smith-Oglesby.

God Saw You Getting Tired "God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So He wrapped His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. And when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful andfreefrompain,
I could not wish you back to suffer that again."
