I will remember the way you laughed The face you made when you got mad They funny way you moved when you danced They way you scorned me when I was bad Or the way you saved me when I deserved The beating Thedo ' threatened when I got on his nerves How though miles away our names you'd scream And had us coming running at full steam We 'd ball up our faces but dare not speak "She had me run ten miles to turn the TV" I will remember you baking many cakes and pies Andfreezing anything that wasn't alive you asking why I never stopped by or phone But as soon as I did you'd insist I go home They way your words were never coated with honey And how you would say "pay me my money " The way you said no to requests we would say And behind our backs, do it anyway I 'll remember how you offered good advice Though at the time it wasn 't realized I will remember you loved us in your own way
I will remember yesterday
