Perhaps you brought us fo d or sat quietly in a chair.

Perhaps you sent us flowers, if so, we saw them there. Perhaps

you said the kindest words th any friend could say. Perhaps

you did not come at all, but sai

yer that day. Whatever

you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much,

whatever the part.

Winfred "Wimp" Morris, Jr. was born to Alice and Winfred Morris on February 15, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Wimp grew up in East Point, Georgia. He attended J.F. Beavers Elementary School and graduated from in 1962 from South Fulton High School. While swiftly gravitating to a height much taller than those in his age group, Wimp's stature and athletic ability quickly captured the eyes of spectators in his local community. Known as a leading scorer for South Fulton High School's basketball team, people would come from all over metro Atlanta to see him play. With his unique and unorthodox shooting style, Wimp would cock the ball behind his head and let it fly towards the basket using only his right hand. During his time as a player on the team, area gyms would overflow when news spread that South Fulton High School was playing. Wimp led the high school to two (2) State AA Championships.
After high school, Wimp went on to play for Tennessee State University before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. It was there that Wimp joined the Army's All-Star basketball team in Panama and was named MVP in 1967. Also in 1966, Winfred married his high school sweetheart, Vivian Mcintosh Morris. To this union two children were born: John Winfred and Jayna Willene. Upon completion of his term in the U.S. Army, Winfred returned home to Atlanta and worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he served for 25 years before retiring.
Winfred also had a love for vintage cars and fashionable suits. Even in retirement, Winfred took a part-time job doing what he loved as a transporter for Manheim Auto Auction. He also creatively turned his love of cars and clothing into an entrepreneurial pursuit. He started and ran a successful limousine business with a vintage 1937 Cadillac limousine. His clean, shiny cars and impressionable attire would capture attention as he chauffeured around the city in style.
Along with being big in stature and a champion of basketball, wearing fine clothing and having vintage cars, Winfred was also a passionate champion of people. He could often be found showing his benevolence while taking people for rides in his cars and he gave back to those in need-especially the elderly. He was the primary caregiver for his elderly aunts, and often made his rounds following up with and visiting old school teachers and those who were sick and shut-in.
Well respected in his community, a devoted father, and a beloved family man, Winfred Morris, Jr. took his final shot on December 20, 2013. He has left a lasting memory of his fashionable style, fancy cars, and athletic ability to those who have been afforded the opportunity to know him. He will be dearly missed by all of his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish memory: his son, John Winfred Morris (Tangela); daughter, Jayna Willene Morris (Orlando Truitt); two grandchildren, Winfred D. Morris and Taylor Morris; two sisters, Bessie Martin and Yvonne Fuller (Anthony); former wife, Vivian Mcintosh Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
