To My Son
My son is a gift from God On loan to me from heaven above. For me to train and nourish in the Lord And show to him always His love.
0 speak the truth to him your precious one For guidance tell my son
OfOne who loves him even more than me, Who wants to be his guide and peace.
No written word nor spoken plea Can teach my son what he should be
Nor all the books upon the shelf But what this Teacher is Himself.

Anna Morris (Ann to most) born April11,1921 in Durham North Carolina, expired peacefully December 22, 2015 in Hoover Alabama. The eldest daughter, "Sister" grew up in a traditional southern family among 10 siblings, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Named after her grandmother, the biblical name Anna means 'gracious' and it really suited her.
Her watchwords were honesty andfairness. Her lifestyle was exemplified by "The Golden Rule" and the scripture "Fear ofthe Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom" (Proverbs 9:10). In 1951, she became the loving wife to John R. Morris Sr. until his death in 1983. She was then blessed thru her son Joseph with generations down through six grands, and six great grandchildren.
Initiated in 1948, she was a Golden Soror member ofAlpha Kappa Alpha sorority who was instrumental in creating the popular 'Calendar Girl'fund raising program. Her life remained full from many hobbies, activities, alumni, civic and social clubs, food bank and cancer support ministries, as well as involvement in many other programs in her community like ABWA (American Business Women's Assoc.), RqSA (Reaching Out to Senior Adults), Lou Walker Center to name a few. She served as president ofthe KEENA GERS Senior Group at Greenforest for 10 years.
She loved to travel and has been around the world on her own, and Jamaica and Haiti as a good will ambassador on Christian missions. An elder deaconess at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Philadelphia for 40 years, she became active in the Greenforest Community Baptist Church when she moved to Georgia 25 years ago.
