Fred Thomas Morgan, Jr. was born August 4, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia to the parentage of Fred Thomas Morgan, Sr. and Ruth Logan. He is preceded in death by his father.
He joined New Hope Baptist Church (Covington) in his youth; however he later joined Springfield Baptist Church (Almon). In 1992, Fred was led by the Lord to commit his spiritual life in service to the Center for Hope (Porterdale). He became a Minister of the Gospel in i996 and remained in active service at the Center for Hope until he received his call to eternal life on Tuesday, January 16, 2001.
Fred attended the public schools in Newton County. He was employed by Pittman Construction, C.R. Bard, and Rock-Tenn. On September 25, 1999, he was joined in holy
matrimony to Sheila Bolden. Fred's personal communion with God began each day
with his morning meditation and Bible study. He enjoyed Gospel music and he played his bass guitar with enthusiasm.
In his youth, he played checkers and recreational basketball. As an adult, he relaxed by watching The Travel and The Discovery Channels and one of his favorite television programs was C(Touched By An Angel." Fred also had a special connection with children - he loved them and they loved him.
These memories as well as other memories will be cherished by a loyal wife, Sheila; a loving daughter, Felecia; four brothers: Jerome (Evett) Henderson, Pastor Kenneth (Minister Pearlene) Morgan, Timothy Morgan and Chris Morgan; four sisters: Ruby E. Grief; Patricia A. Morgan, Martha (David) Morgan, and Lisa .Thomas; mother, Ruth L. Winkfield; in-laws, Mr. Johnny R. Benton, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bolden; two sisters-in-law: Jennifer Benton and Stephanie Benton; brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip (Tiffani) Benton; four step-children, five step-grandchildren, five aunts, six uncles, a devoted friend, Mrs. L. Hall; nieces, nephews,
cousins, and many friends.
