REFLECTION OF LIFE

Master Sergeant William Harper Moore Sr., also known as ((Big Mo", was born on Feb. 20th 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana the second of four children. Born to the late Malrie and Australia Moore, he departed this life on Monday February 2nd 2015, and was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Malrie Moore, Jr., Sherman Moore, and his granddaughter Kimi-ko Pennie and son-in-law Vernon L. Jones. He accepted Christ as his Savior in his childhood and became a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Later in life he became a member of Salem Bible Church where he served as a member of the Usher Board. One of his favorite scriptures was (Revelations 21 :4) ''he will wipe every tear from their eyes". "There will be no more
death o! mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away".
William became a proud marine in January 1952 and retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service. Following his retirement he traveled through various states working as a property manager for Cardinal Industries until he retired. Not one to rest on his laurels, followi1lg retirement for the 2nd time, he worked as a Walmart Greeter in his golden years. He enjoyed his work as it allowed him to meet new and interesting people.

William was a loving and sensitive human being, though his rough demeanor often disguised this. He loved to regale his descendants with stories of his life experiences. He had a dry sense of humor and always had a stash of sweets hidden for his great grandchildren to find. William was blessed in matrimony to the late Dorothy Moore out of this union five were born. Later he met and wed Ms. Blondell Byerson and accepted her four children as his own in addition to the three born out of d1eir uruon.

William leaves to continue his legacy, His wife Blondell Moore of Douglasville, GA; eleven children, Marilyn G. Jones (Stockton CA.), Brenda K. Dixon (Stockton, CA), William P. Moore (Hayward, CA), David D. Moore (Oakland, CA), Nolan Byerson (Grantville, GA), Marsha Pennie (Houston, TX), Dana Byerson (Chesterville, VA), Lita Stanberry (Douglasville, GA), William Moore Jr. (Riverdale, GA), Krystal Moore ( Adanta, GA) and Malrie Moore (Wilmington, DE), three daughters-in-law; Emmarine Byerson, Virginia Byerson, Gwendolyn Moore, two sons-in-law; Gary Pennie and Rueben Dixon; six sisters-in-law; Isabella Lumpkin, Hattie Byerson, Bonita Byerson, Bereatha Moore, Mattie Moore, Cynthia Byerson; two brothers-inlaw; Esau and Jacob Byerson, twenty-one grandchildren; Tamara Mitchell, Dana Pennie, Chantel Stanberry, Blondell Stanberry, Quiana Pennie, Shawn Byerson, Dana Moore, William Stanberry, Ebonee Byerson, Brad Byerson, Brandon Byerson, Corey Byerson, Braxton Byerson, Terry Williams, Sean Johnson, Deshuna Johnson, Shanee Johnson, Kenneth Jones, Justin Jones, Micheal Mitchell and Karrington Moore, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and was loved and revered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
