Antonio Maurice Moore was born on March 26, 1974 at the Bethesda Naval Hospit:.-1.! in Maryland as the first child to William]. Moore, .Jr. and .Joyce R. Moore. He was the Grsl of two boys from that union and tJ1e second oldest of six children overall. He spent the majority of his childhood in the Washington DC area, but also spent a good bit of time in Atlant:.-1., GA as well. He eventually went on to become one of the nation's top basketball prospects at Nev.'Port Prep in Kensington, MD and eamed a full scholarship lo play college basketball at Duke University. During his time at Duke, he would work his way onto tJ1c court while touching many hcatis and minds ofT the courL
Antonio left Duke and 'vvent on to play pro basketball overseas for a number of years where he made stops in England, France, Finl<md, and Lebanon among others. He eventually came back stale-side where he settled in Thomasville, GA.
Antonio (also known as 'Tonio', 'Tony', and 'T-Mo') was big man at 6'9" v.~th an even bigger personality that made an impact on people everywhere he went. To know him was to truly love him as he always had an easy smile on his face, a funny story to share, or a long-limbed hug to soothe whatever's ailing you. He was the consummate free spirit who would often come and go ~th the wind but would always leave you feeling better than before he arrived. His lively personality, giving nature, and kind heart were his gift.:; and he gave them generously to everyone he encountered particularly those that were allowed to gel close to him.
Antonio made a peaceful transition surrounded by 1arnily on Monday, February 15, 2016.
Antonio was preceded in death by Bessie Scott (Grandmother), Inez Moore (GrandmotJler), and Emma Moore (Aunt) while leaving tJ1e following to cherish his memory: Reverend William ]. Moore,]r.
