Mr. William F. Moody, Sr. was born October 24, 1919, to the late Swanson Moody and Avis Priscilla Swanson in Troup County, Georgia. He departed this earthJy,<.life on $aturday, December 3, 1994, with praises on his lips' and song in his heart. At 'the time of his demise, he was at home, 102 Leverett Road, Hogansville. (Two sons, Franklin and James preceded Mr. Moody in death.)
Mr. Moody spent the ear~ier..y~ars of his life in Hogansville where
he met and married Ruth James. .:To this union 11 children were
born. ':

Mr. Moody relocated to Newark, New Jersey in 1954. . He was
employed with the General Baking Company and later with .the
Harrison Baking Company in Harrison, New Jersey. His
employment remained with the Harrison Baking Company until his
retirement in '1985. . Immediately folloWing his retirement, he
returned to Hogansville.

While in New Jersey, Mr. Moody united 'with the First Born Church of the Living God, under the late Reverend George Young and became an ordained Deacon in 1959. When he returned to Hogansville in 1985, he became an active member of the Springfield Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon until his health began to fail him.
William Forrest Moody, Sr., was a person whose devotion to his family was marked by gentle strength and firm guidance. He was also one whose love of life, sense of direction and down-to-earth wisdom was unsurpassable.
Those left to cherish his memories include his beloved wife of 56 years, Mrs. Ruth Moody; five (5) sons, William Forrest Jr., Atlanta, Georgia, Charles and Arnold, Newark, New Jersey, Alim and Thomas, Hogansville, Four (4) daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Cupe and

Ms. Shirley Moody, Newark, Ne\\' Jersey, Mrs. Everlena Coleman of Hogansville, and Mrs. Avis Cov1:itrd.of Greenville, Ga., Two (2) brothers,' Merrial Moody of Hoganville and Charles Reed of Newark,. New Jersey; Twenty-eight grandchildren; 23 great : grandchildren; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughtersin-law; nieces, nephews and other devoted relatives and friends.
