Ferreta was introduced to the Lord at an early age and was baptized as a young adult at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Titusville, Florida. As an adult, Ferreta attended the First Baptist Church in Opa-Locka, Florida, St. James AME in Titusville, Florida, and Greater St. James Baptist Church in Mims, Florida. After moving to Georgia, Ferreta attended and became a member of New Mountain Top Baptist Church in Winston, Georgia and frequently visited Olive Springs Church of God of Prophecy in Smyrna, Georgia. Like her father, Ferreta enjoyed singing spiritual songs. Her favorite song was, "I Come to the Garden Alone." Ferreta found the Word of God comforting and had personal testimonies of God's intervention in her life.

Ferreta graduated from the nursing program at Brewster Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida as a Registered Nurse. Nursing was Ferreta's lifelong career which spanned 44 years. Her career began at Broward General in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There she met and married her co-worker and friend, Richard Bradley. They moved to Opa-Locka, Florida where she continued nursing at Magnolia Hospital. In October 1968, Ferreta returned to Titusville, Florida and resumed her career as the first black Registered Nurse at Jess Parrish Memorial Hospital. She remained at Jess Parrish until her retirement in June 1987.

Ferreta was a vibrant yet quiet spirit who loved nature, animals, dancing, singing and piano. She was a faithful wife and devoted, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a giving, simple and humble person who loved helping people. From her union with Richard came Myrna Denise, La Tanya Hortense, Melinda Joyce and Rodgerick Devon Bradley. In 1968, Ferreta returned to her childhood home, Titusville, Florida. In 1969, Ferreta married long-time friend Robert H. Mitchell ofMims, Florida. She remained with him until his death in 1988.

Ferreta leaves to cherish precious and fond memories of her life to her three daughters, Ms. Myrna Bradley, Mrs. La Tanya Fuqua (Kevin), and Mrs. Melinda Cotton (Roderick); one son, Mr. Rodgerick Bradley; four grandchildren, Ms. Tanisha Cotton, Mr. Roderick Cotton, Jr., Master Skyler Cotton, and Ms. Rashaun Carter; one nephew, Mr. Frederick Thompson, III; one cousin, Mr. Ronald Gilbert; beloved pet, Chloe, other relatives and long-time friends.
