Andrew P. Kitchell was born in Quantico, Maryland, October 10, 1923 to the late Mr. George and Blanche Mitchell. A Godly life ended March 16, 1988.
He was reared in a christian home and joined the church at an early age. He was called to the ministry in 1950. He served in the U. S. Navy with an honorable discharge.
Rev. Mitchell received his formal training at Clark College and Gammon Theological Seminary.
In 1953, he married Miss Aria Adams and to this union five children were born.
Rev. Mitchell served as pastor of Summerville, Jonesboro, Red Oak, Hogansville Charge, Georgia Oliver, Henry M. White and Oak Hill Parish. He retired in June, 1987 as his health failed.
He will be sadly missed by a loving devoted wife: Mrs. Aria Mitchell; four daughters: Dale, Paula, Paulette and Candace; one son: Averell; one sister: Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Gordon (Sarah); two brothers: Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Mitchell and Mr. Clifton Mitchell; other relatives and friends.
We love him, yes, we love him But the angels loved him more, Now they have sweetly called him To yonder' shining shore, The golden gates were open A gentle voice said, "Come" And with farewell unspoken He calmly entered home.
