Ms. gnes Mae Mitch ll (Big Mama) wa born on pril 19,

1930 to the late John Mitchell and Ella Mae Mitchell in

to John Mitchell; two brothers, John I\fitchell, Jr., and

Willie 11itchell and nvo si ters, Fannie M. Davis and Shirley

McCrary, preceded h r in death.

Agnes received her early education tn the tlanta Public

School System. s a child, she m ved t Atlanta, Georgia

and grew up to become a distinguished entrepreneur and a

, very poi ed lady. Sh owned Pa s the Pea's Please re taurant

in Adamsville \vith her sister Vera Allen. She also owned a

z

clothing boutique called Agbar Cl thing Store.

For many years she was an active member of Mt. Sinai

Baptist Church.

In 1950, she met the love f her life, Prank Buddy Gloss

Thornton, whom preceded her in death.

Ms. Agnes leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and

devoted sister, Vera Mitchell-Allen; nvo sons, Michael

Mitchell and Torance "Streek" Thornton; four daughters,

Patricia Willingham (Diane), Priscilla (Gregory) Pate; Sharon

(Eddie) Rush and Rita Mitchell Axam; three nieces, Debra

Mitchell, Vanessa Mitchell, Cheryl Mitchell; three nephews,

David Allen, Major addler and Gary Mitchell;

grandchildren: I<isten, Michael, Martin, Anthony, Tammy

(who preceded her in death), Dashi, Nanaekua, Bianca,

Eddie, Quincy, I<eleki, Ana, Justin, Jade, Amber, Malaya,

Trent, N akisha, Eric and Coby, a host of great grandchil-

dren, relatives and friends.
