JoAnn Milner was born July 28, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia to Louise Young and Joe Young . Her mother preceded her in death in 1976. JoAnn attended C. W. Hill Elementary and Archer High Schools.
She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church, where she was baptized at the age of nine.
JoAnn was employed as a mail clerk with the United States Postal Service for twenty-seven years until she became ill. She was a strong and determined woman who loved to work and provide for her children. She was a kind-hearted person who was an avid reader of all types of books.
She fought a courageous battle with cancer until the Lord called her home on February 23 , 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Milner; son , Damon Gerrick Milner; granddaughter, Ebony C. Milner; one sister, Ms. Louise Y. Green; and numerous friends.
The Magic of a Mother's Touch
There's magic in a Mother's touch, and sunshine in her smile.
There's love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile.
We can find both hope and courage Just by looking in her eyes.
Her laughter is a source ofjoy, her works are warm and -wise. There is a kindness and compassion
to be found in her embrace, and we see the light ofheaven shining from a Mother's face.
