OBITUARY
Naomi Carswell McKenzie was born July 30, 1915 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Reverend Charlie Adams and Alice Jones Adams.
Mrs. McKenzie attended the Fulton County public schools. Later, she enrolled in Bessie Walker's Beauty School and became an instructor of Cosmetology.
She was formerly employed with Afro-American Insurance Company, Queen's Beauty Salon and Hutchings Funeral Home.
Mrs. McKenzie was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church since her teenage years. She later married Reverend Thomas McKenzie and joined his ministry with several C.M.E. churches where she taught Sunday School and worked with young people.
Mrs. McKenzie had one daughter, Alice D. Lamar; and one granddaughter, Cheryl L. Thomas, whom both preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories; three grandsons, Rev. Walter A. Lamar, II (Evelyn) of Macon, Georgia, Gregory A. Lamar of New York, New York, and Clayton S. Lamar of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three great grandchildren, Alan and Vantoine Thomas of Macon, Georgia, and Lavone Evans (Maurice) of Lithonia, Georgia; one sister, Annie R. Massenberg (John) of Raleigh, North Carolina; three brothers, Baxter Adams (Adell), Jerry Adams (Miriam), both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Samuel Adams (Lois) of Kileen, Texas; son-in-law, Walter A. Lamar of Macon, Georgia; a devoted friend, Willie Mae Barrette of Fort Valley, Georgia.
