Obituary
After a lengthy illness Leroy McKenzie departed this life on Tuesday, July 5, 2005. Leroy was born on April 6, 1948 in Woodstock, Georgia to Elizabeth Mapp and the late Jessie McKenzie.
At an early age Leroy joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Roswell, Georgia. Later he transferred his membership to Clear Spring Baptist Church, in Alpharetta, Georgia where he became a member with his two sons.
Leroy graduated from Bailey Johnson High School in Alpharetta, Georgia in 1966. After graduation he married the late Ida Mae Lovelace, to this union was born two sons.
Prior to his illness, Leroy worked at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia and Ford Auto, Inc. in Hapeville, Georgia.
Leroy leaves to celebrate his home going, two sons, Bruce and Leroy, Jr.; his mother, Elizabeth Mapp; four grandchildren; a half brother and sister, James P. Pickens and Hazel Redding; five aunts, Barbara Wilson, Jewell M. Hill, Clara Lou Tatum, Alice M. Grants and Susie Pickens; six uncles, John Albert Foster, ]. W McKenzie, John W. Pickens, Joe McKenzie, Charles Pickens, and Paul McKenzie; and a host ofrelatives and friends.
