"Don't think this is the end for me- sing joyful praises to the skies because my soul has been set free and I've gone home to paradise. In this state of heavenly peace where I now claim my life's reward, where tears and pain and sorrow cease - here face to face beside my Lord. I am with you always even to the end of the age."
Angelia Shanette McGill Mitchell, daughter of Ms. Rena Mae McGill was born June 7, 1967 in Newton County, Covington, Georgia. Quietly on the evening of January 4, 1999 she departed this life after a courageous bout with cancer.
Angelia became a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church in Mansfield, Georgia at an early age. She was a graduate of Bass High School. During this time, she participated in ROTC. After graduation, Angelia worked diligently to provide the necessary support for her family. She was an active parent in all school activities for her children.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving mother; one son, Dwamell; one daughter, Shakekia; a loving husband, Mr. Amos K. Mitchell; three sisters, Mrs. Lyle (Cordelia) Russworm, Ms. Shelia Walker, and Ms. Lekesha McGill; two brothers, Mr. Franklin McGill and Mr. Darrell McGill, all of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, devoted friends, and relatives.
Angelia requested that all, especially African-American, know the importance of becoming donors of blood, platelets, and bone marrow.
